When it comes to conference catering, we know a thing or two about the industry and have always been particularly passionate about creating an offering for delegates that goes way above and beyond the standard ‘boardroom buffet’.
With a lot of our events taking place in our Liverpool home, it’s certainly rewarding to see the city continue to grow when it comes to corporate demand. We are well in to the tenth year since being crowned European Capital of Culture and we’re continuing to rival major European cities in terms of tourism, cultural and event offerings and it’s fantastic to see the innovative approach we are so well known for filter through to our business clients.
As a further boost to the city’s successes, we were thrilled to discover that the area’s very own Liverpool Convention Bureau was awarded ‘Bronze’ in the Best UK Convention Bureau category and in conjunction with the ACC continues to bring large conferences and events with delegates in the thousands into the city. What’s more, the city of Liverpool is continuing to win some fantastic corporate contracts, including the return of the 2018 International Business Festival – officially the world’s biggest business event!
Here at Carringtons Catering, we’ve certainly noticed our own surge in demand for corporate catering offerings and earlier this year, we witnessed an increased turnover of 300% in our busiest February which saw us cater to a number of high-profile events and conferences including Everton in the Community’s 30th birthday dinner celebrations.
While we are planning and executing corporate events, from large-scale conferences to day delegate packages, boardroom lunches, networking events and everything in between, we’re increasingly noticing delegates looking for options that suit their chosen lifestyles. For example, we can cater to a variety of requests such as high-protein options and low carb lunches – however, we find that our clients always manage to find space for our homemade, bite sized Strawberry Meringues! Our very own Master Chef of Great Brian Darren and Executive Chef Alistair Reid love a challenge to create completely bespoke dishes.
We’re operating in a space where there is so much choice in terms of hospitality and it’s fantastic for the city as a whole and for the catering businesses operating within it to be recognised as strong contenders against bigger regions such as London by nationwide awarding bodies. We certainly believe we’re home to some of the most amazing architecture in the country right here in our very own city of Liverpool, where historic and world heritage buildings standing proudly next to state-of-the-art modern meccas alongside and are excited about the promise of new developments such as the Cruise Liner Terminal and ten streets planned development.
Now in its tenth year since it was crowned Capital of Culture, Liverpool continues to thrive and grow and it’s so rewarding both as a city resident and local business to look back on how far we’ve come. With lots in store for the remainder of the year, we’re looking forward to seeing what’s to come not only for ourselves, but for the city as a whole.
